Little Pricks Tattoo is a working studio in Austin where artists focus on thoughtful, well-executed tattoos in a relaxed environment. Our shop has been part of the local tattoo community since 2012, and over the years, it has grown into a place where artists with different styles come together under the same roof.
Some clients arrive with a clear idea of what they want. Others walk in with only the beginning of a concept. Both approaches are welcome here.
What matters most is the process. Taking the time to understand the idea, designing something that fits the body well, and creating a tattoo that will hold up over time. The work is taken seriously, but the environment stays friendly and easygoing.
Tattooing is a personal experience. Our goal is to make the studio a place where people feel comfortable asking questions, talking through ideas, and leaving with work they feel proud to wear.
Our Story Continues to Evolve
Little Pricks Tattoo was founded by tattoo artist Kyle Giffen. Like many artists who spend their lives around drawing and design, Kyle always knew art would play a central role in what he did. Tattooing eventually became the medium that brought everything together.
After working in the industry and developing his own approach to the craft, Kyle opened Little Pricks Tattoo with a clear vision for what he wanted the studio to be.
A place where artists could focus on their work. A place where clients felt comfortable walking in. And a place where respect for the craft remained at the center of everything.
Since opening in 2012, our shop has grown to include a group of artists with different creative perspectives. Some focus on realism. Others lean toward traditional work, fine line, illustrative designs, or detailed color pieces.
That range of styles allows clients to find an artist whose work connects naturally with their idea.
For the team here, tattooing is not just about the finished piece. It is about the process of collaboration between artist and client. The design conversation, the careful preparation, and the hours spent creating something that will live on the skin long after your appointment ends.

Our Approach to the Art

Safety and Cleanliness Remain Number One
Professional tattooing begins with responsible practices. Every artist at Little Pricks Tattoo is licensed and trained to follow proper health and safety standards. The studio operates with strict hygiene procedures that are followed for every client, every session.
Single-use disposable needles and supplies are used whenever possible. Workstations are cleaned and sanitized before and after each appointment. Equipment is handled according to professional sterilization practices. Gloves, barrier protection, and proper setup procedures are part of every tattoo session.
If a client ever has questions about safety or studio procedures, the artists are always happy to walk through the process and explain how everything works.
